Do you like the Terrifier movies, or are you a well-adjusted, normal, not totally sick person? The Terrifier series began with Terrifier (2018) which made $342,707 in the box office worldwide followed by Terrifier 2 (2022), which made $15.7 million worldwide in box offices. The reason these films are so popular is because they are a new type of slasher movie, different from classics like the Halloween series or Friday the 13th. Unlike Friday the 13th or the Halloween movies, this movie is popular mainly because of its gore. The first Terrifier film follows a killer clown known as Art who is a demonic serial killer who kills for fun with no specific plot or storyline. Eventually, with the introduction of Terrifier 2, we are introduced to a storyline that revolves around the resurrection of Art the Clown following around and torturing Sienna. She is the chosen one who has to kill and send Art back to the pits of hell to stop his murder spree. The latest Terrifier movie came out on October 11, 2024.
Luckily, I was able to secure a seat at the Baldwin Hills movie theater and watch it, and all I can say is the film is a questionable and gory one. What surprised me the most was the amount of people who left 10 minutes into the movie. I was shocked because no movie I had ever seen had this type of reaction, with popcorn and candy spread on the seats, floor, and all around as the kill count mounted with each dismembered body part, guts, limbs, and blood splattered. It was a really good introduction as it hooked me to watch the movie (more like I didn’t have the option to leave because the ticket was expensive and my body was too tense and stiff to even move because of the intense fear I was feeling. From there on, it got worse - why did I do this to myself?)

I believe the film was good with the kills, the storyline, and the jokes, but what made me feel outraged was the film mocking God, from the crucifixion, and kill to the use of the thorn crown. The director Damien Leone, who also directed the previous two Terrifier movies (which were outstanding), did an outstanding job in continuing the storyline and unique ideas for the kills. Everything about this movie went perfectly until the ending with the mocking of God with the crucifixion and the use of the crown of thorns. I felt offended because the Bible explained the meaning behind these historical events, and this irreverent treatment of my personal beliefs brought down my mood. The ending sparked outrage among the audience as the movie was left on a cliffhanger when the main character did not fulfill her goal and witnessed her life in a downward spiral.
I interviewed a well-known and trustworthy student who has seen the movie to share their experience and thoughts, the student wishes to remain anonymous for personal reasons.
What did you think about the movie overall?
The movie overall wasn’t that bad the ending left in sort of a cliffhanger which I disliked.
What was your favorite part of the movie? And why?
I think it's probably the mall scene because I found it funny since the whole bombing scene was pretty random.
I've been hearing a lot about people leaving the theater because of how disturbing some scenes were, At any point throughout the movie was there any scene where you felt like you wanted to leave? If so what happened in the movie that made you feel this way?I would say the part when some workers were entering the house was Art the Clown and the little girl have been frozen for 5 years.
What do you think is the minimum age people should be to watch this movie?

Thank you for your time unc.
Overall, the movie is more for people who are fans of the other Terrifier films and enjoy gory kills and funny humor. I highly recommend anyone reading this to watch it but I also suggest you don’t eat the overpriced snacks from the theater as you will lose your appetite and there is a slight chance of throwing up midway through the movie. Have fun, stay safe, and let me know if you liked it or not.
