The year was full of stress, homework you didn’t even touch, worry about how the school air ruined your hair, and drama you didn’t even know you were involved in. That’s the joy of the school year. But enough of school, let’s get straight to business. SUMMER IS COMING UP. LET'S GO. Let us be blessed with the enjoyment of the summer weather, filled with sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows everywhere. To maximize your summer plans, we have a few suggestions for you to consider to have the most fun and enjoy a well-deserved break. Things such as places, food, and even some music recommendations will pop up throughout this article. Let us commence with our ideal and efficient way to enjoy your summer.
1. Places to Go
Let’s start off with some places that you might enjoy this summer. If you want to take a relaxing walk at the botanical gardens, look at some interesting art pieces, and probably read some books while you’re there, take a trip down to the Huntington Library. This iconic facility is located in San Marino, California, and it is definitely worth visiting because there is a lot of stuff to do, and the botanical gardens are so worth the price of admission.
There are many other places to go, such as Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area, located near Culver City. The place is full of nature and wildlife is a large place to rest in the grass or just to roam around, and can be very peaceful. It has two levels of elevation: As you can walk up its hill, you’ll be greeted with a wonderful view up there.
Another place you could go is to the beach!! One of the most famous beaches to visit is Santa Monica. Maybe go at night? Or if you feel unsafe about that, go during the day. This place is famous for its pier, as it has a fair to go to, offering a variety of entertainment options, including a Ferris wheel and a rollercoaster. The beach is perfect.
2. Music to Listen to
Another way to enjoy summer is to listen to music that fits the mood of the day. For example, you could listen to your favorite artists' albums as you have the free time to do it. A way to listen to music during the long summer break is to go on a walk and enjoy the cool summer breeze.
If you want to spice up your summer day, put on Childish Gambino or any R&B artist, such as Kali Ushis or Tyler, the Creator. Some albums that we recommend are “Chromakopia” and “Flower Boy,” both by Tyler, the Creator. “Camp” by Childish Gambino, and “House of Balloons,” a mixtape by The Weeknd.
A good album I would recommend for a good summer walk is “Ideas” by Origami JP, even though the album has only two songs. If you're looking to listen to a different pace of music, such as the Shoegaze genre, some bands are “LSD and the search for god” EP. “Souvlaki” album by Slowdive that personifies a good summer day.
3. Working out
“Suns out, Buns out,” as they say, right? Since summer vacation is right around the corner, why not focus on your health and make little improvements towards your goals? Many gyms are welcoming high schoolers to their gym, and Planet Fitness is offering free memberships throughout the whole summer.
This will be a positive outcome for you as you can get that “summer glow up.”🥶🤑🤑 Can’t make it to the gym? Working out at home is another place you can do it if you're an introvert. Working out helps you stay in shape instead of sitting on your rear end all day, and it helps you gain some sense of confidence in yourself.
